The short answer? Yes.
Refrigerant travels with the oil through the air conditioning system. And if the condenser is out-of-level, the oil can separate and the compressor may operate without adequate lubrication. This can lead to an A/C unit not performing as efficiently as it could. The manufacturer specifications require the A/C pad to be level.
What can you do?
- If your air conditioner is only slightly out of level you may be able to adjust the legs. Not all air conditioners come with this feature. Follow the owner’s manual for more details.
- You can manually lift or pry the concrete pad back to level and place fill material in the gap. This is, obviously, labor intensive and not always permanent.
- Or call us! We love getting these back into place, and our polyfoam lifting solution is permanent. It will not erode or deteriorate and is rodent-proof. We provide service for home concrete repair, replacement, leveling, and more.
